Toric Lens Implant

Corneal Topography is a sophisticated test which measures and analyzes over 12,000 points of curvature and surface power of the cornea.  This is necessary to map out the exact pattern of corneal astigmatism and is essential in planning the correction of astigmatism.

Toric Lens Implants contain an additional correction for astigmatism and must be positioned in the eye so that it lines up with the steepest corneal meridian. These implants can correct mild to moderate amounts of astigmatism. If the lens rotates away from the steepest corneal meridian it can be easily adjusted in the office. Rotation of toric lens implants rarely occurs after 2 weeks post-op.

Toric Lens Implants can be combined with LRI's to correct very high amounts of astigmatism.
