I just wanted to tell you how happy I am with my new eyes after having the Cataract Surgery. It is unbelievable how good I can see. I've always been nearsighted and thought having glasses corrected to 20/20 was all I needed. But now, after having my cataracts out and replacing them with the Crystalens, my vision is truly astounding. Having 20/15 and sometimes 20/10 is something I had never experienced before. Hunting, fishing, golfing, reading and all the other things I do is much more enjoyable, and Without Glasses!
I just wanted to thank you again for doing such a wonderful job on my eyes and let you know that we are so fortunate to have a Doctor like you in the State of Vermont. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
A.C., Optometrist, Vermont
"I've had a refractive lens exchange for presbyopia. I got tired of having to use my reading glasses all the time. I really wanted to go back to the way it was years ago when I could sit down and simply read a book without straining my eyes. Two weeks after the procedure on my second eye I started reading and it was very easy to do, I was very comfortable and I felt great about it. I can read a normal paperback, but also the really small type on a pill box is very easy to read without glasses, which used to be a complete blur."

"I am really happy with the results of my crystalens surgery, and never had the clarity I have now, even with glasses or after lasik surgery. I didn't realize what I was missing.
Thanks again,
-L.M., Vermont
It has been 2 months since I got my first crystalens implanted, and I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the fantastic vision I now enjoy. It is impossible to convey what it is like to wake up every morning and seeing that lake outside my window so clearly without my glasses. Magnificent!
It is certainly gratifying to have the chance to simplify life by not spending time looking for my reading glasses, losing contact lenses or fumbling for my progressive glasses first thing in the morning. I am not sure what to do with all this extra time- I haven't been this liberated since the 1970's!
As a Clinical Applications Specialist for the manufacturer of crystalens, I am incredibly proud to represent our company and our product. I also know that it takes a gifted Surgeon with a dedicated staff to utilize our product to get exquisite outcomes. Your dedication to achieve optimal results and attention to detail made you a clear choice in my eyes (no pun intended) and you exceeded my expectations.
Jen, Cindy, Sonja and Cass, you are terrific - what a team! Thank you all so much.

After wearing glasses for over fifty years, you have made it possible for me to see without them and better than ever. How can I ever thank you enough?
When I came to see you last January, my eyesight had gotten so bad; I had stopped driving at night. My prescription had changed three times the year before as my cataracts were getting worse. I had been told it was probably time to have surgery. For some reason, I did not feel very positive about the surgeon I had seen. A relative suggested, "Why don't you go to see Dr. Singer. He is the best"
When I came to see you last January, I was very impressed. When I was asked by one of your staff, would I like to be able to see without glasses? I said yes, but did not really think that was a realistic possibility. Now, I am not only seeing without glasses but better than I have for many years.
Many friends and clients ask me about how I did this. I always refer them with confidence to you.
With gratitude,
M.M., Vermont
I want to take this time to thank you for the wonderful job you did with implanting my new refractive lens, by Crystalens. I am so delighted with the results. I can see things so clearly now without glasses. The things I noticed most is when I first wake up in the morning I can immediately look out the window and see the deer grazing in our back yard and the waterfowl playing on the pond. Before I always had to keep my glasses on my night stand and put them on to see anything. As for my near vision, it is improving everyday. I only use the lowest reading glass 1.25 for the smallest print. Everything else I don't need glasses for. It has been about six weeks since surgery on my first eye and everyday it is improving. I am going without glasses for most things. As for the surgery, there was nothing to it. The actual surgery only took 15 minutes. It was painless and I had no real discomfort afterwards. I couldn't be happier with the whole process.
Dr. Singer, I was awed at your skill and professionalism and the way you always took time with me, to explain everything. I thank God that there are doctors as dedicated as you are to their profession.

I want to thank you for such a positive experience throughout the past weeks as I underwent eye surgery for the Refractive Lens Exchange procedure. From my first visit, right through the surgery and follow up appointments you and your staff have been very supportive, answering all of my questions and concerns.
Before my operation I literally could not see without some form of corrective lenses. After the operation on the right eye I started seeing objects more clearly that I can ever remember seeing. Thanks to the Crystalens and Piggyback Lens, now in both eyes, I can see without the use contacts or glasses. It is a great experience to get up in the morning, look around the room and actually see objects, not blurry outlines.
The Staff at Gifford Hospital was exceptional. They knew what they were doing and along with your staff, you made me very comfortable throughout both operations, explaining everything that was happening as it happened.

You have truly given me my life back - I feel I have been reborn. I have gone from almost despair over my ever-worsening vision, to a level of vision never experienced in my whole life! Walking around in public and driving a car without glasses are things I never dreamed possible, especially after learning that I was not a candidate for LASIK nor was I ever able to function well with contact lenses or even bifocals.

It has been about seven weeks since I had my cataract surgery and received the Crystalens. It has been such an amazing journey for me, and I don't know how to begin to thank you.
I think the biggest adjustment I've had to make is being able to see when I open my eyes in the morning! Still, every night when I retire, I feel the need to take off my glasses or remove my contact lenses. It is a very strange experience for me to go to bed and still be able to see...like going to bed fully clothed! It's even more foreign to me to be able to read without glasses. Late in the day when I am tired, I still might use reading glasses if the print is very small, but I've already purchased a weaker prescription from the 1.50 I bought when I had my surgery.
This has been life changing for me and I have been singing your praises (no pun intended!) to everyone I know. I consider myself particularly fortunate when a friend who had conventional cataract surgery about the same time compares his experience to mine...not wearing glasses, no problems with bright light, and no tearing on a daily basis...all problems he's experiencing. He's been told these symptoms will ease as time goes on, but I still consider myself so fortunate to have none of those issues.
Suffice it to say, I am very happy! Again, my deepest gratitude. God bless.

My visual acuity prior to surgery for distance was count fingers at three feet (without glasses/contacts) and I was able to read the 20/20 line if I held the reading card 6 inches from my face for near vision. On May 17th Dr. Singer did surgery on my right eye and gave me a new "Crystalens" plus a "piggyback" lens. Again on May 31st I had surgery this time on my left eye with a "Crystalens" and a "piggyback" lens. Let me explain a little further. My vision was so nearsighted that the "Crystalens" itself wouldn't correct my vision so he had to put two lenses in each eye, which is what we call a "piggyback" lens, one over top of the other. The "Crystalens" has the ability to correct my distance, near, and intermediate ranges of vision with help from the "fixed focus lens" also known as the "piggyback" lens. I was also one of the lucky ones who have astigmatism which he corrected at the time of surgery as well. When Dr. Singer finished surgery on my first eye I could immediately see an improvement in my vision.
This surgery has dramatically changed my life. I no longer need glasses or contacts and my vision has gone from count fingers to 20/20 for distance and I can read the smallest print on the reading card at about 24 inches from my face. My peripheral vision has improved to great extents.
I used to plan trips on being sure I had my glasses and contacts and all my "eye stuff" which was the first thing I always packed. I couldn't survive without them if I ever forgot them I would be sunk. If I was flying on a plane I didn't dare put those things in my suitcase, they went in my carry on bag.
Having surgery on my eyes has changed my quality of life, improved my vision beyond my wildest dreams, and given me the freedom to enjoy life without glasses and contacts in over 42 years. I awake in the morning and can now see as soon as I open my eyes. Things aren't one great big blur anymore. I can read the alarm clock and make my way down the stairs to the kitchen and make the coffee, all without the need of glasses.
I can never find words enough to express my gratitude to Dr. Singer for all of his expertise and great care he has taken with my vision; he is truly a remarkable surgeon. I am fortunate to know Dr. Singer as one of his employees, and one of his patients as well. I consider myself lucky to know this man from both "perspectives". He has told me my vision could continue to improve over the next several months. I can't imagine how it could get any better than this!
